Unpublished Lessons from an Experienced Presentation Coach

Great Presentations Persuade
Â
Persuasion.
If I had to describe the goal of a presentation in one word, that would be it.
Presenting information in a way that causes audience agreement and action.
Far too many of our presentations to prospects, clients, consultants, partners, and internal audiences are just gussied-up information dumps.
You’ve seen them, maybe given a few of them.
They’re the kind that cause the audience to go “meh”.
Great presentations, however, cause the audience to do something with the information you just presented.
Because if they don’t, what’s the point?
And, although we give presentations all the time - both formal and informal - not enough of them are great.
25 Years in the Making
Â
That’s why, 25 years ago, I created Developing & Delivering Great Presentations (DDGP) - a two-day workshop, with individual coaching, designed to elevate business presenters to the next level, no matter how skilled or experienced they were coming in.
Students learned a replicable system, received scores of tips, and practiced these new ideas using their own presentations.

Comments from Attendees of That Course
Â
That course and subsequent iterations of it (e.g. Developing & Delivering Great Demos, Developing & Delivering Great Team Presentations) did really well. It became my most popular course.
If you’d like to read comments from 200 more students, go here

“Too many of our people think of this as a course for rookies or remedial presenters. Wrong! Any presenter or salesman could benefit from it. It is advanced & comprehensive; not basic training. Most beneficial were the new ideas. The concept that you have freedom to be creative without being thought of as unprofessional. All of our salesmen, AEs and sales support staff should attend. Also non-sales people that present (product people at our user conferences, trainers, etc.) Excellent trainer. Great job! Thanks.”
- Steve S.

“Excellent. I’ve been through other workshops like these. I learned more in this one than all the others combined. Excellent trainer. Bob makes everyone feel comfortable. His critique is so helpful, simple to put into action. Instead of overwhelming you with ideas, he gives a few key suggestions that leads you to a ton more on your own.”
- Carol W.

“Excellent course. Opened my eyes to a whole new way to present. I think Bob could improve everyone’s presentation. Excellent trainer. In a lot of training classes I am watching the clock. This was so informative, I was surprised when the day was done.”
- Steve Q.

The Next Level Up from DDGP
Up until now, if you wanted advanced presentation training, tips, techniques & strategies, from me, you had two options:
(1.) Participate in a private group workshop, or
(2.) Receive personal coaching (one-on-one)Â
You can still do both of those, but starting today, we’re offering another option.
And, it’s one that anyone can afford.
 INTRODUCING
DDGP+ Insights

Not a very creative name, I know.
Maybe I’ll change it later.
But what won’t change is its goal:
To give you tips, techniques, and strategies that will make you stand out as a presenter, and take your game up a level.
After decades of teaching and coaching hundreds of professionals, from CEOs on down, from small businesses to Fortune 500, and from rookies to master presenters, I’ve learned this:
Great presentations are made up of several really big things (e.g. customizing to your audience, setting a realistic objective/outcome, making it interactive) and hundreds of little things.
Being able to do these big things and little things really well is the secret sauce to consistently delivering great presentations.

They are the secrets and insights I’ve learned and taught over the past 30 years that drive great presentations.
We dive deeper on fundamentals taught in my flagship Developing & Delivering Great Presentations course so you can master these skills.
And, we cover scores of little things that matter, but went beyond the scope of the original course.

Meet BobÂ
My name is Bob LaBarbera. I’m President of The LaBarbera Group & LaBarbera Group University. I help revenue generators, and professionals that surround them, with skill improvement, competitive strategies, and step-by-step processes, all designed to increase your probability of success.
My specialty is the complex sale - highly political, highly competitive, for large dollars, with teams of buyers, a sales teams, and requires lots of strategy.
I tend to go deep on topics that drive success. I break things down into bite-sized chunks - easy to understand and implement. In every course or coaching lesson, you learn what to do, why you should do it, and how to do it.

“Excellent course. I learned more in 2 days than the last 10 years of giving them. I learned a lot about what was bad & how to make it better. Anyone that will present anything to anyone should attend.”
- Nathan R.

“Excellent. This has been one of the best internal training that I have done. Recommend this without a doubt. The entire course was rewarding. Excellent trainer. Thanks very much Bob.”
- Alton J.

“Very good course & instructor coaching. This was the best sales course I’ve ever participated in. He kept it very logical & useful. Critique of our presentation helped all of us make important changes. Recommended. Very useful hints to make our presentations more focused.”
- Beth W.
